Q/. Can I take my child out of school for a holiday during term time?

Q/. How will I be informed if there is an enforced school closure?

A/. We have a email messaging service where we can email all parents.  Please ensure you keep us informed if your email address changes. You can also check our website for updates.

Q/. What do I do if my child is prescribed medication?

A/. Parents can arrange to come into school to administer medication to their own children if necessary.  Antibiotic doses are usually administered 3 times a day. We suggest they are given before and after school and at bedtime. For long term or ongoing medication, parents are asked to complete and sign a medication request form. Children with asthma, severe allergies, etc keep their medication in the Welfare Office; these are given under the supervision of an adult.

Q/. How long before my child can return to school after an illness?

A/. In the case of sickness and diarrhoea, please wait 24 hours after symptoms have stopped before they return to school. For details of other infections/illnesses and incubation periods, please contact the school office or visit www.nhsdirect.nhs.uk

Q/. Can I park in the school car park?

A/. No. We try to encourage children to walk as parking around the school is very limited. Parents bringing children to school by car are kindly requested to park in the surrounding roads and walk the remaining distance.

Q/. What do I do if I need to see a teacher?

A/. Teachers are normally available for brief enquiries after school. If you need a longer appointment, please contact your child's teacher or the office staff who will be happy to arrange this for you.
