From the Principal
It is with great pride that I introduce myself as the new Principal of Oriel Academy. Having worked at our school for over 20 years in different roles, I feel privileged to continue serving this wonderful community in a new capacity.
Our school is a special place – one where the rich diversity of families, cultures and experiences creates a vibrant learning environment for each child. Over the years, I have come to know many of you and I look forward to strengthening those relationships while building new ones.
At Oriel, we believe that every pupil is unique, with their own strengths, talents and aspirations. Each child has the potential to be the very best they can be and it is our role to nurture, guide and inspire them on that journey. Guided by our school motto, Dream. Believe. Achieve, we will continue to encourage our pupils to dream big, believe in themselves and achieve success in many forms.
We have a passionate and talented staff team who ensure equality of opportunity and high aspirations for all pupils so that they may strive for excellence in all that they do with confidence. Our pupils are exemplary in their behaviour and attitudes to each other and it is a joy to see how their opinions and participation in all areas of school life contribute to and evolve the school’s vision. We are proud of the frequent comments from visitors on how kind, well-mannered and articulate our pupils are, while showing respect for one another and enthusiasm for learning in all aspects of their conduct.
My focus for the future will remain on creating a safe, nurturing and inspiring place for all children to thrive. I believe that education is most powerful when it is a partnership between school and home and I am committed to working closely with parents, carers and the wider community to ensure the best outcomes for students.
If this is your first visit to our website, thank you for your interest in our school! I hope you will begin to get a feel for the school – its atmosphere, how our children learn and how we live out our vision. If you are a prospective parent, please do contact our school office to come and visit us on one of our open mornings.
Thank you for the trust you place in us each day. I am excited about the journey ahead and look forward to achieving great things – together.
